I've linked a blog post below from the Professional Association I'm part of as a decluttering expert - APDO. Each month, one of our members posts some useful advice - this month, it's about functional furniture. There are some great ideas in the post, so it's well worth a read. It's important to make your home - and your furniture work hard for you.
With this in mind, I'd add to the advice in this post the idea of having a 'useful drawer' in each family room. This is absolutely brilliant for making sure things don't get lost - if you don't know where it goes, put it in the useful drawer. Then, when you're trying to find something, look in the useful drawer first! The useful drawer also contains genuinely useful item, such as allan keys, pens, spare charging cables - but not junk, and absolutely no clutter!
I hope you enjoy reading the post - and maybe finding out a little more about the Association while you're there.
Thanks for reading,
